An Apron For Jay Lynn

Just a reminder....everyone leaving a comment on my blog will be entered into my Give Away which will be announced on September 7th. Just scroll down to the August 14th post to see the cute little clutch that could be yours!

So, a few weeks ago my sister, Jay Lynn, requested an apron like the one I made for our sister Paula. But, could I please, pretty please, make it in black, white and red??? Sooooo, I went to my black, white and red fabric stash and came up with these.......

I choose a couple of designs and I started on the apron right away........

The Pattern that I used for Jay Lynn's apron is by Vanilla House Designs. But, I find that when I use someone else's pattern; 99.9% of the time I change it. Sometimes allot. Sometimes a little.

I wanted the neck strap to be adjustable, and the ties a little longer....

Here's the finished product...what do ya think? I hope she likes it!

Blackberry Buckle

The other day, while trying to come up with something dinner, I thought why think dinner when the wild blackberries in our backyard were calling to me (more like yelling)! So I braved the thorns, and competition with the Yellow jackets and took what I thought was my share off the bush. If I hadn’t eaten while picking, I would have been able to show you a larger bowl…….

Yummmmmm......blackberry buckle!

When You Can't Sleep........

What do you do when you can't sleep? When it's 11 PM and still not drowsy (and still on a sugar high from dessert), I head to the sewing room. What can I say; I'm a fabric addict.
I've been working on a few clutches, and decided to come up with something to add to the exterior. I came up with these little button/flower pins. I just can't decide if I should just sew them on, or make them as removable pins.....I'm leaning towards sewing them on because they're so cute on the clutch, why would you want to take them off?
Tell me what you think.......

Cute little clutches, all in a row...

A Day At The Market

This past weekend, I visited the Maple Valley Farmer's Market. www.maplevalleyfarmersmarket.org/
This is their first year, and I have to say I was very impressed. If you live in the area, you're going to want to make this Saturday event one of your family rituals! What a great way to start a weekend.......

I'm excited to say that I will get to take part in the market on August 29th. Yup, that's right. I'm going to be a vendor. If you've had a chance to click on my Etsy button (on the lower right side of this page), you'll see that I design/sell handbags, or click here: www.bymarilyn.etsy.com/ . I'll get to share a space with my good friend Margaret. She's an amazing glass painter, with a great eye for color! Check out her art work at www.classonglass.etsy.com/.

So if you get a chance, come visit our booth on the last Saturday of August. I'd love to meet you!!

Meanwhile here is a peek at what you'll see at the Maple Valley Farmer's Market.......

There's A New Blogger In Town!

First, I want to thank my daughter in law, Kaylyne for encouraging me to start my very own blog! You'll have to visit her. She's listed under "Blogs I Follow" titled The Stockton Family. Or just click~
There, you'll get to enjoy all the adorable pictures of my grandbaby, Ethan. He just turned one year old on August 4th. Kaylyne and my son, Brock threw a great party! It had a jungle animal theme, and was sooooo cute! Everyone had a great time!
