Autumn Day In The Park

There's a saying where I live: "If you don't like the weather, just wait 10 minutes, and it'll change".
With that said, I noticed the sun peeking out (just a little), grabbed the dog leash, and quickly walked down to the park with my big eared companion.

We passed this tree on our way to the park...
Frosty, our white German Shepherd, checking out the grounds.....

Frosty resting after a run...good dog!

Notice the sky with the ominous clouds...we better get home.

Mixing Paint & Fabric

I brought out my fabric paints to see how my brush strokes would react to the pile of a micro fiber fabric......
I played around with free hand strokes, stencils and the combo.
After many trial and errors, I chose a black micro fiber fabric, a design and then base painted with a beautiful metallic sunset gold color. I highlighted the gold with a russet red. So fun!

Here's my final product. A pretty little clutch with an antique gold frame and chain. It's hard to see the russet highlighting in this picture, but I love the way it turned out! Click on the picture for a closer look.
Here's a peek inside. Of course I chose a red fabric for the lining........
You'll be able to see it in person at one of my craft shows next month.

Pico de Gallo

October is here, and the frost is coming. So I went out in my back yard and salvaged the remaining tomatoes. This is what I'm doing with them ......
Yummm, Salsa in the making.....

OK, I just need a nice big Margarita and I'm set for the evening......
